Healing with the Dark Moon

The  "dark moon"  or the “new moon” holds deep spiritual significance in many different belief systems. This is the period of time when the moon is not visible in the night sky & is completely covered by darkness. There are many beliefs that the dark moon phase carries certain healing & regenerative properties, similar to those of the dark goddess. This is a time when the ancients believed the goddess would descent into the underworld to uncover hidden truths within the subconscious.


Here are some ways in which the dark moon is healing: 

Rest & Renewal: The dark moon is often seen as a time for rest, reflection, & renewal. Just as the moon appears to disappear from the sky, it's believed that this phase is conducive to letting go of what no longer serves us, allowing for a period of introspection & rejuvenation.

Most woman, especially in ancient times before artificial light, would bleed with the dark moon. The dark moon is a representation of the great void of creation & potential where we are life all birthed from. The dark fertile soil of the womb.
